On Thursday 8th May 2025, we join the nation in commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) – a moment in history when people across Britain poured into the streets to celebrate the end of fighting in Europe during the Second World War.
On this day in 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill made the historic announcement that the war in Europe had ended. Streets were filled with joy, flags waved high, and communities came together to mark a huge step towards peace and the end of a global conflict.
Here at Pier Point Bar, Restaurant & Takeaway, we’re proud to honour this important occasion with a nod to a beloved British tradition – fish and chips.
