Pier Point Bar, Restaurant & Takeaway has proudly been recognised as one of the UK’s 10 Best Fish & Chip Restaurants for 2025 and has also earned a spot among the Top 50 Best Fish & Chip Takeaways in the UK – the only business in the local area to receive such a prestigious dual honour. With over 10,000 fish and chip shops in the UK this is incredible achievement.
This recognition follows a rigorous mystery dining assessment conducted by Fry Magazine, one of the leading publications in the fish and chip industry. Judges meticulously reviewed several key aspects, including food quality, premises cleanliness, staff expertise, value for money, ease of ordering, and social media presence.
Pier Point surpassed the demanding 96% pass mark, achieving an impressive score of 97% for its restaurant and 98% for its takeaway. The mystery diner was particularly impressed by the exceptional customer service and consistently high food standards.
Here’s what the mystery diner had to say:
“The customer service was excellent throughout the experience. The food was presented professionally and at the correct temperature. Both of the fish were of a high standard and cooked perfectly, with no carbon particles. The fish inside was cooked well, moist throughout, and served at a good temperature. The chips were of an even colour and a good portion while also being cooked to a high standard. The servers were dressed in a company uniform and looked smart and well-groomed. Also, the chefs were well dressed in clean chefs’ whites, and all of them had their beards covered.”
