At Pier Point Bar & Restaurant, our heart has always been firmly anchored in the community. We’re passionate about celebrating the English Riviera, supporting local people, and giving back wherever we can. That’s why we are incredibly proud to support Wetwheels Torbay – a remarkable organisation making the sea accessible to everyone.
Who Are Wetwheels Torbay?
Wetwheels Torbay is a pioneering inclusive boating charity that gives disabled people of all ages the chance to experience the joy, freedom and adventure of being out on the water. Unlike standard boat trips, Wetwheels offers fully accessible, barrier-free powerboat experiences — allowing participants to not only ride on the boat, but actually drive it.
Every trip is designed to build confidence, independence and unforgettable memories. For many, it’s a moment they feared they would never get to experience.
Why Pier Point Chose to Get Involved
Our team feels deeply connected to the sea – it shapes our menu, our outlook and our entire way of life on the English Riviera. Supporting Wetwheels is therefore a natural extension of our commitment to accessibility, community and sharing the beauty of our coastline with others.
As owner Lorraine Arnold explains:

Wetwheels Torbay relies on community support to keep trips affordable and accessible. Every donation helps towards fuel, maintenance, specialist equipment and subsidised places for families facing financial difficulty.
