After an incredible couple of weeks celebrating England’s Seafood Feast, the celebrations don’t stop there! October marks National Seafood Month, and we’re keeping the momentum going with something truly special — a one-night-only collaboration between Pier Point Bar & Restaurant and The Elephant, taking place on Tuesday 25th November 2025 right here in Torquay.
This exclusive event will bring together two very different, yet equally passionate, champions of the English Riviera’s local seafood: The Elephant, Torbay’s Michelin-starred restaurant celebrating 20 years of culinary excellence, and Pier Point, proudly recognised in the National Fish & Chip Awards for our dedication to quality, sustainability, and showcasing locally caught and landed seafood.
Though we might serve our seafood in different styles — from seafront classics to fine dining artistry — our values are the same: a shared love of our coast, a deep respect for our fishing community, and a belief in cooking with purpose.
A Celebration with Purpose
The evening, priced at £39.95 per person, begins with a prosecco and Bays Brewery reception, followed by a shared seafood platter that celebrates the best of what’s landed right here on England’s Seafood Coast:

Cajun Whiting Rillette – light, zesty, and fresh

Coley Slider – panko-coated with citrus mayo in a soft brioche bun

Tempura Torbay Sole – golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned
The main event is a dish that celebrates one of our most underused yet flavour-packed species — Fillet of Hake with crab hollandaise, curried scraps, coriander oil, spicy rice, and mango.
To finish, guests will enjoy a bright, indulgent Lemon Sherbet Donut with citrus crème and raspberry sorbet.
Every ticket sold supports The Fishermen’s Mission, a charity close to our hearts that provides vital help to fishers and their families across the UK.
Celebrating Local Seafood, Together
Speaking about the collaboration, Pier Point’s owner, Lorraine Arnold, said:

Simon Hulstone, Head Chef of The Elephant, added:
“Holding a Michelin star for 20 years has been a journey built on the quality of our ingredients and the people behind them. Our fishermen are central to that story. Working alongside Pier Point for this event is a chance to not only celebrate great seafood but also to highlight the importance of sustainability and to give something back to the communities we rely on.”
Helen Lovell-Smith from The Fishermen’s Mission also shared:
